TINSUKIA: With 2 quarantine centres under Doomdooma Revenue Circle recording highest number of COVID-19 positive cases in Tinsukia district, apprehension of spread of disease outside the quarantine centres has not been ruled out by the Doomdooma residents. The local people alleged that the quarantine centres-Marawari Panchayati Bhawan and Basanti Cinema Hall were not properly sanitized even the bedrolls used by COVID positive patients were not disposed as per COVID norms. They further suspect that such spike of positive cases within the same quarantine centres may be due to direct contact with the virus infected belongings of positive patients. Out of 100 positive cases detected in Tinsukia district, the 2 quarantine centres accounted nearly 50 while more than 70 infected persons hailed from Doomdooma Revenue Circle majority of them were train returnees.
