Rabha Bodies Stage Protest in Boko

The All Rabha Students' Union (ARSU) and five other Rabha organizations staged protest demanding justice for the victims of the Kokrajhar and Dhekiajuli alleged rape and murder incidents, at Boko on Wednesday.

BOKO: The All Rabha Students' Union (ARSU) and five other Rabha organizations staged protest demanding justice for the victims of the Kokrajhar and Dhekiajuli alleged rape and murder incidents, at Boko on Wednesday.

On June 11, two young girls were allegedly raped and hanged from a tree. Rabha organizations reacted to the incident and staged protest on the NH 17 while maintaining COVID protocol. The president of ARSU Kamrup district, Ajit Rabha said that they wanted immediate justice through fast track court and that the culprits should be hanged.

He also added that the Rabha organizations had urged the Chief Minister to give financial aid to the families of the victims. Regarding the matter, the Rabha organizations submitted a memorandum through the Boko Revenue Circle Officer to the Chief Minister of Assam. Namal had urged Assam Police to find out the culprits soon and to hang those involved in the alleged rape and murder of a mother and her daughter in Sapai Baligaon village under Dhekiajuli Police station in Sontipur district on February 20.
