TINSUKIA: Rabha Divas was observed with a two-day programme by the IQAC Cell of Tinsukia College in collaboration with the Cell for Women Studies and Development (CWSD) and Cultural Club.
On the first day, a talk was delivered by Dr Baikuntha Das, Assistant Professor of Political Science, on the topic titled ‘Relevance of Bishnu Rabha in present times’. The programme was attended by the officials of Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Tinsukia District, Principal Dr Surjya Chutia, teachers and the students of the college. There were also performances of Rabha music to commemorate the great man.
On the second day, a lecture was held under the chairmanship of the Principal of the college and in the presence of large gathering of teachers and the students where Dr Neelim Jyoti Senapati, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science, deliberated on ‘Bishnu Prasad Rabha’s Life and Contemporary Assam’.
