BOKO: All Rabha Students’ Union (ARSU) and five other Rabha organizations jointly organized a press meet at Kamrup district ARSU Office in Boko on Friday. Chief Executive Member of Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) Tankeswar Rabha also reacted on the ECI’s draft list of delimitations. “I request the ECI to make the draft list of delimitations permanent. It will protect the indigenous people of Assam,” said CEM Tankeswar Rabha at Dudhnai in Goalpara district. Rabha organizations led by CEM Tankeswar Rabha took out a procession at Dudhnai from Sixth Schedule Demand Committee Office.
Bhishmadev Rabha, president of the Kamrup District Rabha National Council said that the Rabha organizations are yet to take any decisions regarding the matter. “We demand reservation for ST of the Boko LAC and after a long year our demand will be fulfilled,” said Rabha. Rabha also said, “But yes, we will show our political power if the State government didn’t take up our decade long pending demand for inclusion of RHAC in the sixth schedule of Indian Constitution.”
