RailTel Launches Artificial Intelligence Based Attendance for Assam Schools

In 48, 000 schools across 33 districts of Assam the RailTel implemented Artificial Intelligence (AI) based Attendance system.

ASSAM: RailTel, a telecom infrastructure provider, has completed the deploying of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based Identification System for Capturing Attendance and Management of SDMIS (Student Database Management Information System) across all the elementary, secondary and higher secondary schools in all 33 districts of Assam.

According to RailTel, the total project value for RailTel is 19.20 crore out of which Rs 12 crore is one time cost being released post completion of the project. The cost for maintenance of the project is Rs. 3.96 crore per year with a scope of AMC for 2 years in the current scope of work. RailTel has successfully completed this project in 4 months.

In 48000 schools across 33 districts of Assam the RailTel implemented  Artificial Intelligence (AI) based Identification System for Capturing Attendance and Management of SDMIS.

In press release the RailTel quoting the Puneet Chawla, CMD of RailTel, said, "With a global pandemic rapidly changing the world around us, all important sectors like health, education are leaning towards cutting edge digital technologies to adapt to the new normal".

He also said that RailTel has provided this AI based solution to schools in Assam and has also provided end user training for smooth implementation. RailTel is also capable of rolling out a number of technology-based services like AI based Cloud platform solution for Smart Classroom solution, Learning Management System etc. which are the need of the hour.

The press release also informed that Axom Sarba Shiksha Abhijan Mission, Assam has been undertaking several reform initiatives for modernizing education department through user friendly digital reforms and extensive adoption of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools.

RailTel is also working with the Indian Railways to transform railway stations into digital hub by providing public Wi-Fi at railway stations across the country and total 6050+ stations are live with RailTel's RailWire Wi-Fi.
