SIVASAGAR: As part of the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a Government of India's initiative to celebrate 75 years of India's Independence, Rameswar Teli, Minister of State, Petroleum & Natural Gas and Labour and Employment, honoured 75 eminent citizens of Sivasagar, Jorhat and Golaghat districts of Assam in ONGC office premises, Nazira recently.

The programme was graced by Jogen Mohan, Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, Hills Area Development, Mines and Minerals, Virendra Mittal, Personal Secretary to Rameswar Teli, Director Onshore (ONGC) Anurag Sharma, ED-Asset Manager, Assam Asset, Rajesh Kumar Sharma, and other dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Teli said the idea of celebrating India's Independence as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was conceptualized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There are several programmes lined up to commemorate this important year of Indian Independence. The eminent persons who have contributed in various spheres of development of the nation were felicitated on the occasion.
