Rare Animal Species Rescued From Kamakhya Railway Station

As per sources, two golden jackals along with a baby tiger has been saved from the mentioned location.

GUWAHATI : Guwahati police has recovered rare species of animals from the possession of few smugglers on 1st of February, Wednesday. The incident took place in Kamakhya Railway Station in Guwahati. 

As per sources, two golden jackals along with a baby tiger has been saved from the mentioned location. The species were rescued from the Lokmanya Tilak Express. 

The team of police has also nabbed one smuggler in connection with the matter. As per the reports, the animals were shifted from Guwahati to Mumbai. 

A case has been filed in connection of the incident and the concerned department has launched further investigation process. On 14th of November, in the Hailakandi area of Assam, at least seven endangered species of black monkeys were saved. 

Inside a truck with the registration plate NL 01 AD 4984, the cops discovered them. At the Jamira checkpoint, the police discovered them while performing their routine duties. According to sources, the vehicle with the monkeys was traveling from Mizoram to Meghalaya when it was stopped in Hailakandi. 

The forest department received the rescued monkeys once they were delivered. The endangered monkey is thought to be worth billions of dollars on the global market. Five consignments from Imphal were seized by the Jorabat police on Tuesday, 6th of December 2022. 

As per the reports, the consignments were travelling to Gujarat via Meghalaya. The shipment comprised of several boxes, inside which there were exotic species of reptiles. As soon as the Jorabat police team got hold of the consignment, they informed about it to the Forest Department personnel team. 

The team was led by Pranjal Baruah. After arriving at the spot, the documents of consignment was checked by the team. It came to light after an investigation that, the rare exotic species were being taken to Gujarat with the permission of Central Zoo Authority of India. 

Pranjal Baruah stated that, the consignment of these rate exotic species was sources by an NGO. The Central Zoo Authority of India passed the order and currently, the court order is under verification.
