Rashtriya Ekta Diwas observed across Assam

NAMRUP: The Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation (BVFCL) of Namrup observed Rashtriya Ekta Divas with great enthusiasm, coinciding with the birth anniversary of ‘Iron Man’ Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. To mark the occasion, a ‘Run for Unity’ was organized from Gandhi Field, Namrup covering BVFCL township in the morning. People from every walks of life voluntarily took part in the Run for Unity.

LAKHIMPUR: Deep tribute was paid to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who is considered to be the architect of integrated India, at Lakhimpur Commerce College on Wednesday. The event was chaired by Principal Dr. Bhimsen Behera. He commemorated, with deep reverence, the great contribution of the freedom fighter towards the freedom movement of India. In his lecture, he stressed the importance of reading history and encouraged the students to do the same in order to gain knowledge.

Writer Sajjad Hussain took part in the programme as resource person and he explained the significance of observing the National Unity Day. Professor of Political Science, Kuldeep Narayan Dutta also spoke on the occasion. A student, Deepakhi Bhuyan presented a melodious song.

GUWAHATI: Every year since 2014 on October 31, on the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, one of the founding leader of republic of India, the whole nation observed the day as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’. In Doimukh, 12th Bn NDRF observed the day by organizing ‘run for unity’. It was flagged off by Sh GM Sharma CMO (SG) from Dikrong bridge Doimukh and the run was concluded at 12th Bn NDRF hqr Doimukh. In this event all the unit officers and personnel took part in it. The event was organized to spread the message of unity, integrity and security.

A pledge ceremony was held at the unit ground. It was lead by Sh. G.M Sharma in which the whole unit took part in taking a pledge to promote unity among the nation. A speech was delivered on the occasion on how and when it was introduced by the Government, its importance and the necessity to maintain unity, integrity and security of the nation to progress. In the afternoon, a march-past was held at the unit ground to pay tribute to Sardar Vallabhhai Patel as well as to mark the observation of the day in true spirit.
