TINSUKIA: The Re-SVAYEM (Redesigned Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment) Yojana was launched in Tinsukia district on Thursday in a centralized programme held at the Golap Chandra Rabi Chandra Natya Mandir at Tinsukia in the presence of beneficiaries.
Sanjay Kishan, Minister of State for Tea Tribe Welfare & Labour Welfare Department, while ceremonially launching the scheme, said that inspired by Swamiji's vision for youth, the scheme aimed to provide financial assistance to youths through formation of SHGs in order to achieve self-reliance by way of different livelihood generations.
A total number of 874 SHG beneficiaries under SHG A+ category and 6,536 beneficiaries under Individual Scored A+ category out of 1,553 SHG applications with total members of 14,021 have been selected in Tinsukia district. The break-up beneficiaries in different LACs in respect of SHG and Individual are Chabua 113/868, Digboi 112/844, Tinsukia 172/1316, Sadiya 166/1134, Margherita 116/735 and Doomdooma 195/1639.
Among those present in the programme were Bhaskar Sharma, MLA of Margherita, Suren Phukan, MLA of Digboi, Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia, Diganta Saikia and others. The programme was moderated by Pranabjit Kakoty District Development Commissioner, Tinsukia.
