LAKHIMPUR: United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO) has undertaken extensive preparations to organize its 9th annual conference in Guwahati with three-day long programmes from January 7 to January 9. As a part of such preparations, the organization on Sunday constituted a strong reception committee to organize the event with grand success on the designated days.
In this connection, a general meeting of the organisation was held at Bathoupuri in Guwahati. A press statement, issued by UBPO central committee general secretary Pitambar Brahma said that the meeting was chaired by UBPO central committee president Manuranjan Basumatary. Chief Executive Member of Bodo-Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC) Mihiniswar Basumatary, Executive Members Anil Basumatary, Pranab Boro, Dasarat Boro, Rajesh Chorkhy and representatives of many Bodo frontal organizations were present in the meeting. In the same meeting, the reception committee was constituted with Ramendra Narayan Kalita, MLA of West Guwahati constituency as president, BKWAC Executive Member Anil Basumatary as working president, Babul Boro as general secretary and several prominent persons by shouldering them the other portfolios.
