Record revenue collection of Rs 41.72 crore by Kamrup DTO

PALASBARI: The Kamrup district transport department has managed to set a record by collecting a total revenue of Rs 41.72 crore in the financial year 2021- 2022 while Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma adopted nine strategies to run the transport department in a new manner.

Kamrup district transport officer Rupjyoti Kalita told the media that a total of Rs 2.26 crore was collected from overloaded vehicles on the streets of the district and a total of Rs 7.85 lakh from persons driving without helmets on the highway.

After the Kamrup district transport office was set up in Amingaon, revenue was generated from new avenues. On the other hand, it has managed to raise Rs 1.17 crore on the last day (March 31, 2022) of the financial year.
