Relief materials distributed to flood-affected village farmers in Mangaldai

MANGALDAI: Seuji Pam, a premier non government organization formed by a group of progressive agriculture farmers based at Mangaldai expressing their solidarity towards the flood-affected village farmers living in Hetou Sar near Mangaldai, offered packets of food items and medicines on Saturday. Though Hetou- a riverine Sar of river Brahmaputra is adjacent to Mangaldai, yet the marginal village farmers of the Sar have been isolated with the mainland for non- availability of road communication as the country boats are the only means of transportation.

Darrang Superintendent of Police Raj Mohan Ray taking part in the function offered the relief materials to the villagers. He also urged upon the villagers to concentrate deeply on agriculture farming adopting the scientific methods and to refrain from any land dispute. Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ) Pranjal Bora, Deputy Adviser of Village Defence Organization Mukut Saikia, ideal entrepreneur Siddhartha Barua and senior journalist Bhargab Kumar Das also took part in the function.
