A CORRESPONDENT
LAKHIMPUR: Indo -Global Social Service Society (IGSSS), a national development organization, handed over renovated 14 schools, 9 Anganwadi centres, 2 flood rescue shelters, 5 community level stilt toilets, 15 community level elevated hand pumps, 3 animals rescue shelters, 30 low cost toilets and 40 hand-pumps to their proper authorities in Lakhimpur district on Saturday. The organization, with support from HDFC Bank under its CSR Initiative, has renovated 14 schools and 9 Anganwadi Centres with WaSH (Water Sanitation and Hygiene) facilities in the district during the last two financial year — from April 2020 to March 2022 — under a project titled as Action for Holistic Rural Development Program".
Similarly, in the current financial year, 2 flood rescue shelters with WaSH facilities, 5 community level stilt toilets, 15 community level elevated hand pumps, 3 animals rescue shelters, 30 low cost toilets and 40 hand-pumps, have been constructed under its DRR (Disaster and Risk Reduction) and WaSH Preparedness programme in the flood affected panchayats of Lakhimpur, viz, NA-Kadam and Gunasuti besides working in the field of skill development , livelihood enhancement and agriculture initiatives.
