Republic Day meeting held in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: In view of the forthcoming Republic Day celebration, a meeting was held recently under the chairmanship of Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka at the conference hall of the election office regarding the celebration of Republic Day.

Extending her New Year greetings to all the members present, Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka said that this year too, the Republic Day would be celebrated in the district in a befitting manner with various programmes and activities like distribution of awards and certificates, felicitations, display of tableau by various departments, display of band, children's sports, friendly cricket match between DC's-XI and BTC's-XI along with the usual programmes like prabhat pherry, playing of patriotic songs, hoisting of National Flag at individual residential buildings, business establishments, government offices, offering floral tributes at Swahid Bedi and hoisting of National Flag centrally at Kokrajhar Government HS and MP school field.

During the meeting, various departments were entrusted with responsibilities by the Deputy Commissioner to ensure preparation as well as smooth conduct of the programme. She urged the heads of all departments to ensure that the National Flag is hoisted with utmost care and proper manner in their office premises and in the subordinate offices, schools, institutions etc. Likewise in case of lowering of flag due protocol should be followed.

The meeting also decided to organise online competition. At the end of the meeting, Chairman Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka requested for the enthusiastic participation of all concerned. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners Rajiv Kumar Das, Wadiul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commissioners, Circle Officers, district heads of departments, heads of educational institutions, representatives of social organizations and leading citizens.
