LAKHIMPUR: The Research Council and IQAC of North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) successfully organized the two-day research workshop on ‘Writing and Publishing a Research Article’. As the college recently received the status of a university, this workshop helped in many ways to ensure the environment of research in the institute. The workshop was attended by 360 postgraduate students from nine departments and PhD scholars at the college.
The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Chuchengfa Gogoi and Dr. Raghav Parajuli. The inaugural session started with the keynote speech by Dr. Biman Chandra Chetia, the principal of North Lakhimpur College, and discussion was held by Vice-Principals Ranjan Borah (administrative) and Bani Kanta Konwar (academic). In his speech, Dr. Chetia talked about the importance and steps of research. The session was moderated by Dr. Chuchengfa Gogoi, Member Secretary of the Research Council. Following the inaugural session, six technical sessions took place where five resource persons—Dr. Mahan Borah, Assam University; Dr. Manoranjan Dutta, North Lakhimpur College; Dr. Tarun Gogoi, Sankardev Mahavidyalaya; Dr. Birender Pal, Kaliabar College; and Dr. Budhadev Basumatary, North Lakhimpur College—delivered their lectures. The sessions highlighted different aspects of research article writing, editing, and publishing. The sessions were successfully moderated by Dr. Binda Sah, Dr. Ishmi Rekha Handique, Dr. Budhadev Basumatary, Dr. Raghav Parajuli, and Dr. Chuchengfa Gogoi of North Lakhimpur College. In the valedictory session, the president of the governing body, Dr. Mukunda Rajbongshi, delivered his valedictory speech to the participants.
