LAKHIMPUR: There is resentment among people of Dhakuakhona subdivision in Lakhimpur district for not getting the master cards of Aadhaar number even after 15 months since the day of enrolment for the same. Regarding the issue, the people have alleged a Guwahati-based institution of collecting money in the name of online application.
Some institutions engaged as franchise established online application centres across the State for Aadhaar enrolment as per government guidelines. As a part of such moves, the first Aadhaar enrolment centre in Dhakuakhana subdivision was established at Allahabad Bank located at Bebejia Majgaon under Ghilamora Police Station. A lot of people submitted their forms for online application at this enrolment centre through the operator concerned for Aadhaar enrolment since January, 2018 after getting their fingerprints and iris scanned. Then the applicants were suggested to deposit Rs 118 in the bank account of a Guwahati-based institution named NESWO bearing number 50416147735. The applicants deposited the said amount in the bank account of the institution as instructed. But a major section of these applicants have allegedly not got the master card of the Aadhaar number even after 15 months since they applied.
Two persons in this regard, with Aadhaar enrolment number 0661/15621/00237 and 0661/15621/00242, informed that they submitted their Aadhaar applications through the Allahabad Bank enrolment centre on February 27, 2018 and deposited Rs 118 each (main fee Rs. 100, GST Rs 18) to the NESWO bank account. After some days, though they received the normally printed copies of their Aadhaar cards, they have not yet received the master cards. Though they have contacted with the centre authority in this regard they are not satisfied with any expected reply.
The operator in the centre was changed three times and the related works there have not been performed properly. Under such circumstances, the franchise institution, NESWO came under scanner with the allegation of collecting money from Rs 118 to Rs 150 in Ghilamora and Dhakuakhana, following which the applicants have been deprived of the master card of their Aadhaar numbers. So, the victims and the conscious people of the subdivision appealed to the Lakhimpur DC for steps in this regard.
