TEZPUR: An emergency review meeting to discuss the COVID-19 situation in Sonitpur district was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Bhupesh Chandra Das here on Thursday in order to discuss micro planning of tasks to be done in order to tackle the current COVID situation.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the Joint Director of Health Services (JDHS), Sonitpur to put forward his views on the steps that need to be taken in order to avoid total lockdown. The Joint Director said that laying focus on identification, isolation and containment of positive cases and then proper diagnosis of all positive cases was required to deal with the rise in the number of cases.

During the meeting, an analysis of the BPHC-wise home isolation data was also done. All SDM&HOs were asked to ensure that the guidelines issued by the government on home isolation were followed strictly. The Deputy Commissioner instructed all SDM&HOs to allow home isolation only under extraordinary circumstances and refer/encourage institutional quarantine as much as possible.

The testing and vaccination status was also reviewed by the Deputy Commissioner. The ADC (Vaccination) stated that it had been made mandatory to have 73 session sites daily. He also informed that 100 vaccination teams had been already trained for this purpose.
