Review meet with heads of educational institutions held in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: The district administration held a review meeting with the heads of educational institutions at DC's conference hall on Thursday in presence of Doomdooma MLA Rupesh Guwala and Bitupan Hazarika, Inspector of Schools Tinsukia. Chairing the meeting, ADC Sushanta Dutta explored all means to enhance number of seats in newly upgraded high schools and existing colleges.

After thorough review, the meeting decided to increase 210 seats in HS Arts steams in 3 upgraded high schools namely Tingrai RKB High School (100), Meghela High School (53), Bordirak High School (57) while proposal has been sent to Doomdooma College for enhancement of 70 seats each in Arts and Commerce streams with Sadiya HS School to increase additional 50 seats in Arts stream.

In respect of vacant seats in degree classes, Dutta informed that students can seek admission in Padmanath Gohain Baruah Government Model College Kakopathar against 41seats in Arts stream and vacancy status of other colleges are- Margherita College, 75 in Science stream, Doomdooma College, 75 in Arts streams, Sadiya College, 99 in Arts, 89 in Commerce and 129 in Science streams, Janata College, 80 in Arts stream and Makum College, 181 seats in Arts stream are lying vacant, stated Dutta.
