Review meeting on Covid-19 situation in tea garden held in Tezpur

In view of the rising number of Covid-19 cases across Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: In view of the rising number of Covid-19 cases across Sonitpur district, Dr Pradip Kumar Lahkar, Medical Inspector Plantations, Tezpur organized a meeting with representatives of the tea garden management of Sonitpur district along with Secretary, ABITA and TAI, Tezpur Mrinmoy Barua and Sonam Das, ACMS Borsola branch Secretary, Former Deputy speaker Bhimananda Tanti, Rangapara Branch Secretary, Sunil Tuti, Labour Inspector, Tezpur Dhruba Jyoti Borah and other dignitaries.

The meeting was held at the Assistant Labour Commissioner's office in Tezpur on Tuesday to discuss the Covid-19 situation in the tea garden of Sonitpur district.

During the meeting, MIP Dr Pradip Kumar Lahkar stressed the need to create utmost awareness activities regarding Covid appropriate behaviour, besides ensuring that all the tea garden workers wear face masks while doing their duties in the garden. Dr Lahkar also advised the management association and representative of the workers union to work together to fight against Covid. He explained in details about present Covid protocol in the tea estate. Further, he advised that though now home isolation is allowed in tea gardens for Covid patients but there should be constant vigilance for Covid patients for referring to designated Covid hospitals if there are any complications. Dr Lahkar also directed the management to improve safe drinking water supply and sanitary arrangements in the working site and the garden hospital.

Dr Lahkar expressed his gratitude to both the workers and management associations for their cooperation in third wave of Covid and also advised to extend their cooperation in Covid vaccination drive.
