Review meeting on model villages held in Bongaigaon district

BONGAIGAON: A review meeting was held on Thursday on model villages under Pradhan Mantri Adarsha Gram Yojana (PMAGY), Saansad Adarsha Gram Yojana (SAGY) and Assam Adarsha Gram Yojana (AAGY) in Bongaigaon district.

Dr M S Lakshmi Priya, Deputy Commissioner of Bongaigaon, discussed about the plan and estimate with Nadira Jesmine, Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Bhaskar Das, District Development Commissioner, officials of Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Bongaigaon and GP Secretaries of selected villages.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Lakshmi Priya asked to plan to upgrade the selected villages as model villages. The entry gates to the selected villages should be installed and beautification should be done by planting flower plants or other plants on both sides of the road. An Anganwadi centre and a primary school of every model village should be selected to improve infrastructure. There should be electricity connection in the Anganwadi centre and primary school. There should be model community hall-cum-library in the model village by improving infrastructure.

There are 16 villages selected by the Government of India under PMAGY for phase II for the year 2019-20 in Bongaigaon district. They are Amguri pt.-i, Chalantapara pt.-i, Ghilaguri pt.-iii, Khakarpur pt.-vii, Kirtanpara pt.ii, Tinkonia pt.-i, Baripukhuri pt.-i , Kachudola pt.i , Jopea Mainapara, Haripur, Khagarpur pt. viii , Balarchar pt.i , Amguri pt. ii ,Darkinamari, Sristipara, and Malegarh pt.iv.

Under SAGY, Rangapani GP has been adopted under Tapattary Development Block. Under AAGY, total six villages have been selected. They are Bidyapur, Jelkajhar pt.i and pt.ii, Dhaknabari, Amguri, Gerukabari and Chouraguri village.
