Road accident near Jowai leaves one dead, another injured

In a tragic accident, Biswajit Ghose, a popular mathematics teacher of Silchar, was killed near Jowai on Friday.

Silchar: In a tragic accident, Biswajit Ghose, a popular mathematics teacher of Silchar, was killed near Jowai on Friday. Ghose, in his early fifties was driving his car en route to Shillong along with his former student Aman Bansal when the car had a head-on collision with a traveller bus. Ghose was rushed to Jowai Civil Hospital but could not be saved. Aman, an engineer, sustained injuries, however, now out of danger. Ghose, 52, left behind his wife and a son.

Biswajit Ghose was one of the founder teachers of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College, a premier private institution in Barak Valley and first of its kind. Ghose was also the principal of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College for almost seven years. Presently he was working as the Academic Co-ordinator of the Institute, now named as Ramanuj Gupta Senior Secondary School.
