Road named 'Swahid Kalicharan Borah Road' after martyred CRPF personnel in Biswanath

BISWANATH CHARIALI: The Deputy Commissioner of Biswanath district has declared the road connecting from National Highway-15(Kokila Chariali) to Sakura via Sonalibori under Gohpur Mouza of Gohpur Revenue Circle as 'Swahid Kalicharan Borah Road', perusing the letter from the Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam, Home and Political Department and the minutes of the meeting held on July 29 at the office of the Subdivisional Officer (Civil), Gohpur.

This order will come into force with effect from August 15. All banks, schools and other institutions on the road have been instructed to change their postal addresses on their own after declaration of the name of the road.

Swahid Kalicharan Borah lost his life fighting bravely against the militants in Srinagar in Kashmir on March 27, 1991. He served in the 60th Battalion of Central Reserve Security Force (CRPF). The administration took the decision in order to keep the sacrifice of the braveheart alive among people and also to inspire the youths to work for the nation.
