Road renamed after martyr Dhiren Chandra Kalita by CRPF 175 Battalion

A PWD Road from Bisennala Jagya Mandir to Swahid Sunanda Saloi High School was renamed after martyr Dhiren Chandra Kalita by CRPF 175 Battalion on Wednesday.

RANGIA: A PWD Road from Bisennala Jagya Mandir to Swahid Sunanda Saloi High School was renamed after martyr Dhiren Chandra Kalita by CRPF 175 Battalion on Wednesday.

CRPF is renaming all the roads of the country after different martyrs in connection with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. A programme was organized by the CRPF 175 Bn at village Bisennala on Wednesday where Leena Pawe, Circle Officer Rangia and T. Umakant, Assistant Commandant, CRPF 175 Bn. along with other officers and local dignitaries were present.

According to T Umakant, Assistant Commandant, CRPF 175 Bn, Dhiren Chandra Kalita, a jawan of 114 Bn who was posted in Tripura, was attacked by NLTP rebels at village Hesajara. Dhiren Kalita bravely fought against the rebels and sacrificed his life on June 7, 1995. After 25 year of his sacrifice, the CRPF honoured the martyr by renaming the road after him.
