Road Safety Month: Free eye treatment camp held in Tinsukia

As a part of observance of Road Safety Month, District Transport Office (DTO), Tinsukia organized a free eye treatment camp at Lions Club of Doomdooma Tea City Office at Doomdooma Town Field on Monday and examined around 43 employees of private commercial vehicles.

DOOMDOOMA: As a part of observance of Road Safety Month, District Transport Office (DTO), Tinsukia organized a free eye treatment camp at Lions Club of Doomdooma Tea City Office at Doomdooma Town Field on Monday and examined around 43 employees of private commercial vehicles.

This camp was the beginning and more such camps will be held in different places of the district, where drivers, conductors and handymen of the private commercial vehicles will be offered free eye check-up and treatment facilities. Each employee was given a first aid box free of cost in the camp. The camp was conducted jointly by District Transport Officer (DTO) Bubul Gogoi and Vehicle Inspector Subrata Mishra under the supervision of eye specialist Dr Dhiraj Kamal while Dulu Arandhara, secretary, Tinsukia District Private Bus Association, extended all cooperation to the camp.

The Road Safety Month's programme was started by DTO on January 18 and it would come to a close on February 17. Another significant aspect of the programme was that those who disobey traffic rules will have to pay fine as per new enhanced rates and for this mike publicity was done separately all over the district along with observance of the Road Safety Month.
