TEZPUR: In three separate raids carried out on Monday, a total amount of Rs. 2,62,500 was seized from various locations of Sonitpur district. The first amount of 90,000 was seized by a Flying Squad led by Khagendra Sarmah from Jamugurihat under Sootea LAC. Another Rs. 88,500 was seized from Dikorai bridge under Sootea LAC by a Static Surveillance Team led by Palash Mahanta. The third seizure happened at BP Tiniali under Tezpur LAC where a SST led by Prasanta Rongpi seized an amount of Rs. 84,000 from a person. All amounts were seized due to absence of valid documents and sent to Sonitpur Treasury. Inquires are underway.
