RSS supremo Mohan Bhagwat's commitment on CAA welcomed

Sara Asam Bengali Aikya Mancha (SABAM) welcomed RSS supremo Mohan Bhagwat’s commitment for inclusion of Hindu Bengalis living in Barak valley as per provision made in the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and condemned the recent incident at Mayong College.

DHUBRI: Sara Asam Bengali Aikya Mancha (SABAM) welcomed RSS supremo Mohan Bhagwat's commitment for inclusion of Hindu Bengalis living in Barak valley as per provision made in the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and condemned the recent incident at Mayong College.

In a press release issued on Tuesday by the president of SABAM, Ranendra Narayan Bhattacharjee stated that the organisation welcomed the RSS chief, Mohan Bhagwat's commitment to include only Hindu Bengalis of Barak valley of Assam.

" I appeal RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat that citizenship should be granted to all Hindu Bengalis living in Assam which will fulfil the long pending demands of the community," Bhattacharjee further stated.

Bhattacharjee also strongly condemned the recent incident at Mayong College and drew the attention of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on the incident and urged upon him to book the miscreants involved in it. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is currently on a five-day visit to Silchar beginning from January 30.
