Rwngwra Narzary becomes new working president of UPPL

A core committee meeting was held by the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) on Wednesday in Guwahati to review about party matters after the BTC election.

KOKRAJHAR: A core committee meeting was held by the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) on Wednesday in Guwahati to review about party matters after the BTC election.

The committee thanked all party workers and well-wishers for working day and night during the election campaign. UPPL general secretary Maoti Brahma Hazowary said that the UPPL would look forward to meet people's expectations and promised to work for peace, harmony and all-round development of all communities living in BTR.

UPPL members expressed happiness at the appointment and swearing in of party president Pramod Boro as the new BTR CEM and Govinda Chandra Basumatary as the deputy CEM of BTR. The party also congratulated all the Executive Members from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Gana Suraksha Party (GSP) who were sworn in on December 15.

It was also resolved in the party meeting to appoint Rwngwra Narzary as working president of UPPL. The party discussed about resolution of the party in reference to UPPL, BJP and GSP entering into a coalition to form the government in BTR. The party meeting concluded with declaration of new slogan by the chief of BTR - 'Hokolo re logot, vikaxorpothot'.
