All the Government offices across Hailakandi district observed the 76th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister

HAILAKANDI: All the Government offices across Hailakandi district observed the 76th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi as "Sadbhavana Diwas" on Thursday.

The theme of "Sadbhavana Diwas", which is celebrated across the country on this day every year, is to promote national integration and communal harmony and spread the message of goodwill towards everyone and eschewing violence.

As part of the event, officials and employees took the pledge to work for "the emotional oneness and harmony of all the people of India regardless of caste, region, religion or language" and to resolve all differences "through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence".

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district Congress Committee (LDCC) observed the 76th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi as Sadbhavana Divas on Thursday.

The public programme organized on this occasion at the district office of the party began with the garlanding of the portrait of Rajiv Gandhi by LDCC president Dr. Joy Prakash Das along with other dignitaries. It was followed by a commemoration meeting with the LDCC president in the chair.

"Former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi, the sculptor of modern India, who strengthened the nation with the advancement in science and technology, was not only a leader of this land, but of the globe also. He was the main person behind India's technological strength at present. We have commemorated the great leader with deep reverence on this very day," said Dr. Joy Prakash Das.
