TAMULPUR: Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday campaigned for the upcoming bye-polls to be held on October 30 at Tamulpur, Gossaigaon and Bhabanipur legislative assembly constituencies. The Union Minister addressed election meetings at Gandhibari for UPPL candidate Jolen Daimary, at Bhomraguri for UPPL candidate Jiron Basumatary and at Salbari for BJP candidate Phanidhar Talukdar.
In his speeches, the Union Minister appreciated the huge support for NDA by the people and highlighted the massive developmental works undertaken by the PM Narendra Modi at the Centre and the CM Himanta Biswa Sarma in Assam.
"The BJP-led Assam government has brought equal development to both the Barak and Brahmaputra valleys. Peace and security for every community in BTR is now a reality, which is a reflection of the great love and support of PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah," the minister said.
He further added, "In seven years, steps taken by PM Narendra Modi has made India one of the strongest nations of the world and made the PM, one of the most revered leaders globally. India's handling of COVID under PM Modi and his ideals of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas have enabled every citizen to shine. It is due to his efforts that Assam and NE are now on the path of never seen progress."
"PM Modi did in seven years what Congress could not do in 70. Congress meted out step-motherly treatment to the Northeast, and only looted its resources. Today, there are no supporters of Congress. I urge all to vote for NDA to continue the fast paced development journey of your constituency, state and nation, " the minister stated
Union MoS Rameswar Teli, Deputy Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly Numal Momin, Ministers Ranjeet Dass, UG Brahma, senior leaders and functionaries of BJP, AGP, UPPL were present in the meetings, stated a press release.
