Sarbananda Sonowal orders immediate anti-erosion measures at Mohanaghat

DIBRUGARH: Expressing serious concern over unabated erosion of the River Brahmaputra at Mohanaghat in Dibrugarh town, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, who was on tour to Dibrugarh, has directed the Water Resource Department and Dibrugarh district administration to take immediate anti-erosion measures in the area taking local people into confidence. He also asked both the Water Resource Department and district administration to store adequate anti-erosion materials at the nearby erosion site. If necessary, Chief Minister Sonowal asked the department to accelerate anti-erosion work day and night on shift basis so that the local people felt secure. Chief Minister also asked the department to step up constant vigilance in the erosion-prone area in order to take preventive measures on time.
