HOWRAGHAT: The State Bank of India, Howraghat branch has refuted the allegation of any staff of the branch asking bribe from customers to avail loan from the bank. In reference to the news item 'Alleged irregularities in SBI Howraghat branch' published on November 26, the bank authority stated in a statement, "Independent enquiry has been made from our side twice and we met some of the recent borrowers to prove the allegations made in the said news. But no borrower was found who gave bribe to get a loan from our Howraghat branch. We do hereby assure that the bank has zero tolerance policy for such activities of staff and strong action will be taken."
