School Students in Sivasagar take oath against alcohol, drugs

School students in Sivasagar district on Monday took an oath to stay away from alcohol and drugs and prevent their peers from falling victim to them.

SIVASAGAR: School students in Sivasagar district on Monday took an oath to stay away from alcohol and drugs and prevent their peers from falling victim to them. The oath taking programme was held at as many as 61 schools in the district in accordance with the discussion and decisions taken in the meeting and keeping in mind the increasing trend of alcohol and drug abuse in the district and for maintaining a secure society. To make the students aware about this anti-social disease and for the greater interest of the society, the Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav had directed officers of various departments to visit and attend various schools in the district at 9 am on May 8 for execution of the oath-taking progarmme among the students of the schools.
