TINSUKIA: St. Mary's School, Doomdooma organized a science exhibition-cum-competition among the students from Class VI to Class X of the school on Saturday. The inaugural programme of the exhibition was attended by Sister Katharine Joseph, the General Councillor for Education of Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians (MSMHC) as chief guest.
In her inaugural speech, Sister Katharine urged the students to gather knowledge for the future instead of studying for merely passing the examinations. She appreciated the students who participated in the exhibition with some innovative ideas. She also emphasized the holistic development of the students in order to make the society better. Earlier, the headmistress of the school, Sister Laisa Varghese welcomed the chief guest. The students of the school performed a few cultural items in the inaugural programme depicting the State's rich and diverse culture.
Later during the day, Sister Katharine interacted with the students of Class X of the school and urged them to prepare well for the forthcoming HSLC examination.
