Second phase of Gunotsav-2023 concludes in Assam

The second phase of Gunotsav-2023 successfully concluded on February 4.

GUWAHATI: The second phase of Gunotsav-2023 successfully concluded on February 4. The second phase of Gunotsav was held from February 1 to February 4 in 12 districts of Assam – Baksa, Chirang, Charaideo, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Golaghat, Hailakandi, Jorhat, Kamrup (metro), Sonitpur, Tinsukia, West Karbi Anglong districts and also in Hojai (part of Nagaon district) and 114 schools of Biswanath (part of Sonitpur district).

A total of 14, 62, 886 students from Classes I to IX of 15,681 schools (government/provincialized schools/ Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Avasiya Vidyalaya) were evaluated in the exercise. During the evaluation process, IAS, IPS, IFS, ACS, APS, AFS and other Grade-1 and II officers took part as External Evaluators. Ministers, MPs, MLAs and EMs also visited various schools as External Evaluators and interacted with the students, teachers, parents/guardians, mother groups and community members. The External Evaluators evaluated the performance of the students on scholastic skills (reading, writing and numeracy/ basic mathematical operations) and subject areas as well as other indicators of the schools.

The third phase of Gunotsav-2023 will be held from February 15 to February 18 in eight districts – Bongaigaon, Cachar, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Dima Hasao, Goalpara, Morigaon, Nalbari and Biswanath (part of Sonitpur district). A total of 11, 915 schools and 11,94,856 students from classes I to IX will be covered in the third phase of Gunotsav 2023.
