DIBRUGARH: The second Ranjit Kumar Dutta Leadership Lecture, organized by Centre for Management Studies, Dibrugarh University (DU), concluded successfully here at DU on Wednesday.
The lecture was delivered by Vartika Shukla, CMD of Engineers India Limited, who in her inspirational talk delved on the requirements of a successful leader. Reminiscing her own leadership journey, she in her deliberation talked about achieving a balance in the life of a leader and reiterated on the importance of taking decisions, on keeping things simple and the ability to innovate on even the mundane of things.
Earlier, while inaugurating the lecture, Prof. Jiten Hazarika, the Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University, thanked Shukla on accepting the invitation to deliver the lecture and also motivated the students through tales and examples.
As part of the lecture programme, the Bhubaneswar Barman Memorial Award 2021 was presented to Namrata Mahanta of the MBA (FT) 2019 Batch for being the topper amongst girls in her batch. The award carried a trophy, a certificate and a cheque of Rs 10,000. The welcome address for the lecture was given by Prof. Pratim Barua, the chairperson of the Centre for Management Studies, DU, while the vote of thanks was offered by S K Barua, former MD of Numaligarh Refinery Limited and one of the trustees of the Ranjit Kumar Dutta Memorial Leadership Lecture.
The lecture was attended by the MD of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited, Reep Hazarika and the MD of NRL, Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan apart from officers of EIL, BCPL and NRL, as well as teachers and students of the Centre and the University.
