Section 144 CrPC imposed in Kokrajhar district

KOKRAJHAR: Observing the situation of possibility of breach of law and order and increasing number of COVID-19 positive cases in the district, the District Magistrate, Kokrajhar Bhaskar Phukan has imposed section 144 CrPC in the district.

The order has restricted the gathering of more than five persons, pillion riding, using full mask helmet, keeping arms, storing explosives, holding public meetings, rallies, shouting slogans, melas, functions and persons violating SOP of COVID-19 protocol.

However, the magistrate, police and para military personnel in duty, other essential services, children below 12 years of age and senior citizens have been given relaxation from the purview of section 144 CrPC order.

Meanwhile, Kokrajhar town wore a deserted look after 6 pm.
