Seminar on contribution of taxpayers in nation building held in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: Shiksha Valley School, Dibrugarh, set an exemplary platform to introduce students to an interactive and informative seminar on ‘Contribution of taxpayers in Nation Building and Concept of Income Tax’ in the school premises. The seminar was conducted by the Income Tax Department, TDS Wing Dibrugarh on Tuesday. It was an hour-long informative insight into the role of the income tax in nation-building activities. The seminar was led by Khursed Khan, Income Tax Officer Training, Jorhat.

He was accompanied and supported by Kishan Kumar, Income tax Inspector, Training, Jorhat, Dharmendra Yadav Income Tax Inspector, TDS, Dibrugarh and Ashish Pradhan, Income Tax Inspector, Dibrugarh. The session educated the students on the concept of Income Tax and its role in the future of our nation through a well contented and structured powerpoint presentation.

The presentation gave a detailed account on the functioning of the Income Tax Department. It laid the foundational message that tax is the ultimate source of revenue for the government. The students were sensitized on the fact that without taxes the government would be unable to build up a nation or fulfil its target goals. A final interactive session with eager students inquisitive about career opportunities in the Department was refreshing. The Shiksha Valley students asked intelligent and practical questions to clear their doubts.
