A seminar on Xattriya culture was organized by Asom Adarsha Vidyalaya Borpam in the northern part of Sootea on Wednesday.

JAMUGURIHAT: A seminar on Xattriya culture was organized by Asom Adarsha Vidyalaya Borpam in the northern part of Sootea on Wednesday.

Gopal Goswami, principal of Naduar Sangit Vidyalaya and an eminent Xattriya culture activist, graced the occasion as a resource person. Addressing the gathering, resource person Goswami traced the origin of Sankari culture and its impact on the Assamese way of life. He further said, “If we acquaint young minds with the creations of Sankardev and provide training on Xattriya culture then they can never deviate from right track of life. It is the need of the hour that we all should work together to make our children familiar with the creations of Sankardev, including his songs, Borgeet, drama etc.”

Ripunjoy Bordoloi, science teacher of Chengamari HS, explained the objectives of the occasion which was chaired by Bornali Kurmi, headmistress of the school.
