DIBRUGARH: The All Assam Lawyers' Association (AALA) in collaboration with the Bar Council of India and Bar Council Assam, Nagaland etc. on Saturday organized a seminar on the 'concept of fraternity under Indian Constitution' at the Dibrugarh Bar premises.

The seminar was inaugurated by Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia, Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court. Justice Dhulia in his inaugural speech described the genesis of 'fraternity' and its incorporation in the Indian Constitution. He also talked about 'human dignity' by citing past judgments.

Justice Dhulia said that fraternity and dignity are subjects that require more feeling than knowledge to understand. "If you really want to understand fraternity and really want to understand 'human dignity' then you will find it in literature, music and good cinemas. In Assam, Bhupen Hazarika has best-explained dignity and fraternity through his song Manuhe Manuhor Babe," Justice Dhulia said. Eminent litterateur Dr Nagen Saikia released a souvenir 'Nyaijyoti'.
