HAFLONG: The Dima Hasao District Disaster Management Authority organized a one-day Sensitization Orientation Programme on landslide and earthquake risk mitigation which was sponsored by ASDMA at Glass Hall, DSA Ground, Haflong on Wednesday.
As many as 290 participants participated in the programme from different line departments and gaon buras from all five blocks of Dima Hasao like Diyungbra ITDP Block, New Sangbar Development Block, Diyung Valley Development Block, Maibang Harangajao ITDP Block, Nehru Yuva Kendra,Haflong (Youth Organization), Social Welfare, Dima Hasao (Anganwadi Workers), Jatinga Valley Development Block, Mahur Joint Director of Health Services.
The orientation programme was inaugurated by James Aind, ADC-cum-CEO DDMA. The programme speaker was Engineering Consultant, Rajesh Dutta, PO, ASDMA.
The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among the citizens of Dima Hasao through frontline workers on earthquake and landslide.
