Sensitization workshop on ‘Ease of Doing Business’ organized in Tezpur

TEZPUR: A day-long sensitization workshop on “Ease of Doing Business (EODB)” was held in Tezpur on Tuesday. It was organized by the District Industries and Commerce Centre, Sonitpur at KRC Home Stay in Tezpur, where entrepreneurs of Sonitpur, Nagaon, Golaghat and Morigaon took part.

The zonal level workshop was inaugurated by Tezpur MLA Pritihraj Rava in the presence of Deputy Commissioner, Deba Kumar Mishra, DDC, Sonitpur, Gaya Prasad Agarwal, CEO, Zilla Parishad, Karabi Saikia Karan, GM, DICC, Sonitpur, Pulak Jyoti Das, GM, DICC, Morigaon, Manju Rani Gogoi, other senior district administration officials and heads of various government departments.

Speaking on the occasion, Tezpur MLA Prithiraj Rava emphasized on how the State government is taking all steps to make Assam a desirable investment location through the “Ease of Doing Business” programme, in a simple and timebound manner. He also spoke on how the youths of Assam have developed an entrepreneurial mindset and stressed on the need for better loan disbursement to aspiring entrepreneurs.

Deputy Commissioner Deba Kumar Mishra in his speech praised the initiative taken by the DICC and said the workshop will go a long way in promoting the business ecosystem of the State of Assam, which already has the advantage of being rich in natural resources and its strategic location of being the gateway to the Northeastern states. He also appealed to the participating entrepreneurs to make the most of the technical sessions and interact with the resource persons for the workshop. Consultants from Ernst & Young, Rupam Das and Bibhuti Deori, Asst Manager, Industries and Commerce, Dhritiman Bharadwaj were present as resource persons for the workshop.
