SeSTA in partnership with ABF launched Rural livelihood project PRIDE

Seven Sisters Development Assistance (SeSTA), in partnership with Axis Bank Foundation (ABF), launched a rural livelihood initiative, ‘Promoting Rural Innovators for Development and Empowerment’ (PRIDE) in Teok.

TEZPUR: Seven Sisters Development Assistance (SeSTA), in partnership with Axis Bank Foundation (ABF), launched a rural livelihood initiative, ‘Promoting Rural Innovators for Development and Empowerment’ (PRIDE) in Teok. Several dignitaries from the government, Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM) inaugurated the project in the presence of officials from SeSTA and Axis Bank Foundation. The PRIDE project, a joint collaboration of SeSTA and ABF, aims to support the underprivileged rural families residing in Jorhat, Tinsukia, Majuli, and Dhemaji districts.

The launch event served as a platform for the project stakeholders and the participants to engage in meaningful discussions and collaborate on strategies to maximize the positive outcomes of the project.

Speaking on the collaboration with SeSTA, Dhruvi Shah, Executive Trustee and CEO, Axis Bank Foundation, said, “Our association with SeSTA builds on the work we are doing on Rural Livelihood through our Program – the Sustainable Livelihood Program. Through this partnership, we will support more than 30,000 rural families across 8 blocks of 4 districts to enhance and strengthen their livelihoods. A community-led approach has been envisaged to promote natural resource management, improve farm productivity, foster market linkages and promote micro enterprises. We believe that this partnership will go a long way in improving the socio-economic conditions of local communities and fostering an environment of self-reliance.”

Pradyut Bhattacharya, Executive Director of SeSTA added, “With utmost appreciation for everyone gathered here, united in this ABF project, I commend the initiative as a catalyst for our women farmers. The unwavering support of our dedicated line departments is vital in fostering community assets and amplifying ongoing activities.
