'Shakti Peeth' at Kamakhya Shrine reopens ahead of Durga Puja

Before being permitted to proceed uphill, devotees will be tested for covid-19 by the temple authorities. Further, passes will have to be applied at the temple's official website.

The 'Shakti Peeth' at Kamakhya Temple has reopened its doors for devotees on 21st October on the occasion of Durga Puja. The shrine's door will open at 8:30 AM and close at sunset.

Before being permitted to proceed uphill, devotes will be tested for covid-19 by the temple authorities. Further, passes will have to be applied at the temple's official website.

7 to 10 devotees will be allowed inside the Sanctum sanctorum or shakti peeth. As per reports, very few devotees have visited the Devalaya after it reopened its premises after seven months of lockdown, with only 100 to 150 devotees have been recorded daily.

Keeping the current pandemic condition in mind, the authorities and the management of Kamakhya temple has ordered not to serve any prasad or bhog for the devotees.
