The SLRBP in a release on Friday said that it has been informed by the authorities investigating the cases related to the leakage of the question that "names of some individuals connected to the consortium conducting the examination have come to their notice".

The SLRBP has thus decided to remove the consortium immediately from all ongoing recruitment examination process. It also assured all participants that the process will continue to be totally transparent and fair.

On September 20, the question paper of the written examination for 597 posts of sub-inspectors was leaked and the State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) had to cancel the test minutes after it had commenced across Assam.

So far, the Assam Police have arrested 37 people including retired DIG PK Dutta and expelled BJP leader Dibon Deka in connection with the examination paper leak.

Taking ''moral responsibility'' for the incident, the SLRBP Chairman Pradeep Kumar decided to resign from his post on September 27.

The re-examination of the recruitment test has been rescheduled to November 22.
