SIVASAGAR: As part of its annual event, Sibsagar Press Club will organize the Anjali Dutta Memorial Lecture at Yuvadol, Sivasagar on October 20. The topic of the memorial lecture is 'Importance of studying tribal history in the social context of present day Assam'. Prof. Nirode Boruah, Vice Chancellor of the Majuli University of Culture, will attend the event as key-note speaker.
The event, which will start from 10:50 a.m, will be inaugurated by Aditya Vikram Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar, and the lamp will be lit by the Superintendent of Police of Sivasagar, Shubhra Jyoti Bora. Besides, financial aid will also be distributed to some selected meritorious students who are financially weak by the Anjan Dutta Foundation. Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta, president, and Khalilur Rahman Hazarika, general secretary of Sibsagar Press Club, have sought cooperation from all to make the event a success.
