The citizens of Silchar municipality can deposit house tax, betterment fee, trade licence fee, and other municipal taxes online through the UPI system, i.e., the Unified Payments Interface. An agreement has been signed between Silchar Municipality and Paytm. For the time being, payment can be made by scanning the QR code or using an ATM card at the municipal counter. That, too, will be done within this month. After that, citizens can pay tax from home by downloading the app.
