Silpi Divas observed in Lakhimpur district

The Lakhimpur district unit of Anusuchita Jati Mahila Parishad observed Silpi Divas to pay rich tribute to cultural icon Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala recently.

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district unit of Anusuchita Jati Mahila Parishad observed Silpi Divas to pay rich tribute to cultural icon Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala recently. The event was organized at the Haladhiati village under the Telahi Development Block in association with the people of the village. The agenda of the event began with unfurling of organizational flag by Lakhimpur district unit of Anusuchita Jati Mahila Parishad president Kunti Das. It was followed by smriti tarpan, plantation drive, various literary and cultural competition among the students.

The public meeting, organized on this occasion commenced from 1 pm with Kunti Das in the chair. It was held under the management of secretary Ruhini Das who also explained the objective of the programme. Subject teacher of Bosagaon HS School Nityananda Hazarika graced the occasion as an appointed speaker who delivered lecture on the life and noble works of Jyoti Prasad Agarwala and encouraged the students to proceed in life with a stipulated aim. Anusuchita Jati Yuva Chatra Santha president Nripen Das along with a galaxy of prominent figures, including cultural exponents, retired teachers, social workers, community organization leaders took part in the programme as guests of honour.
