Assam: Simanta Chetana Manch(SCMP) Organised COVID Vaccination Drive In Dhubri, 1750 People Vaccinated

The town unit of Simanta Chetana Manch, Purvottar (SCMP), after opening its vaccination centre at its permanent office premises in Simanta Bhavan on May 7, has vaccinated 1,750 people in just 23 days.

DHUBRI: The town unit of Simanta Chetana Manch, Purvottar (SCMP), after opening its vaccination centre at its permanent office premises in Simanta Bhavan on May 7, has vaccinated 1,750 people in just 23 days.

In view of growing cases of COVID-19 in the month of April this year, SCMP had approached Dhubri district administration in taking part in the vaccination drive to reduce the pressure of the health department and to streamline the swelling crowd in other vaccination centres of the town, a SCMP source said.

Meanwhile, Assam State Director of Health Services Dr Manoj Choudhury visited the vaccination centre at Simanta Bhavan and inspected the ongoing vaccination therein. Dr Choudhury expressed satisfaction over the management and smooth implementation of vaccination maintaining all protocols.

Finance secretary of Dhubri town unit of SCMP, Bipul Kumar Prasad said that besides Assam State Director of Health Services Dr. Manoj Choudhury, Dhubri Superintendent of Police Gaurav Abhishek Dilip, who has been recently posted, also visited the vaccination centre.

"The Dhubri SP assured all help in carrying out vaccination drive at Simanta Bhavan and had interacted with the management committee of SCMP. We are trying our level best to provide this health service to the people, who otherwise would have been moving from pillar to post to get vaccinated," Prasad added. Earlier, the vaccination centre was formally inaugurated by the then Dhubri Deputy Commissioner, Deba Kumar Kalita on May 7.
