Sipajhar Violence: Section 144 Imposed in Villages of Dhalpur

As per the order, any procession/demonstration/blockade of public road has been prohibited. and also assembly of five or more persons in public places without permission.

GUWAHATI: The district magistrate Prabhati Thaosen on Friday imposed section 144 of the CrPC at Dhalpur area under Sipajhar Revenue Circle under Darrang District.

In the order, the district magistrate stated that there is every likelihood of breach of public peace and tranquillity at village no 1- Dhalpur, No 2 Dhalpur and No 3 Dhalpur and their adjoining areas under Sipajhar police station of Darrang as per the prevailing situation.

As per the order, any procession/demonstration/blockade of public road has been prohibited. Assembly of five or more persons in public places without permission from the authority concerned has also been prohibited.

The administration also prohibits the following to prevent the breach of public peace and tranquillity:

Procession/Meeting/Protest meeting/Dharna/Rallies which may create communal tension

Holding of public meeting, rally and demonstration in public place without permission from the competent authority

Carrying and display of arms/lathis/lethal weapons/sharp instruments/bows and arrows/daggers/daos/swords/trishuls etc by any person or group of persons in public places

Use of loud speakers without permission from the competent authority

Gherao of any person, office premises, godown etc

Wearing combat clothes by the civil population

The order shall come into force with immediate effect throughout village no 1- Dhalpur, No 2 Dalpur and No 3 Dhalpur and will remain in force until further order.

Persons violating the order will be prosecuted under the relevant provisions of law, the order stated further.
