Sivasagar DC Aditya Vikram Yadav interacts with journalists on various issues

Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav held a discussion with the journalists of Sivasagar to discuss various issues of Sivasagar at the Sukafa conference hall on Saturday.

SIVASAGSR: Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav held a discussion with the journalists of Sivasagar to discuss various issues of Sivasagar at the Sukafa conference hall on Saturday.

In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner sought suggestions from the journalists regarding celebration of Sivasagar Divas on July 1. Senior journalist and general secretary of Sibsagar Press Club Khalilur Rahman Hazarika suggested to give emphasis on some permanent nature of works in the interest of the development of the district on the occasion of upcoming Sivasagar Divas. Hazarika urged the Deputy Commissioner to take measures to clean, beautify and free the historic Jamuna canal from encroachments.

Stating that necessary action has already been taken in this regard, the Deputy Commissioner informed the journalists that a proposal has been sent to the government after taking advice of a senior professor of Jorhat Engineering College to keep the Jamuna clean permanently. On the issues raised by the journalists to eradicate artificial floods in Sivasagar town, the Deputy Commissioner informed that measures have already been taken in this regard. He also assured the journalists that necessary measures would be taken to eliminate traffic congestion and parking problems in the town.

The Deputy Commissioner assured the media persons that their demands to control e-rickshaws, remove beggars infront of the Shiv Dol, control bikers and anti-socials on the roads in front of Phuleshwari Higher Secondary Girls’ School, Piyoli Phukan Park and District Jail near Borpukhuri, will be considered on priority.

In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that one stadium, 35 Anganwadi centress and classrooms would be constructed under each development block. Besides, he also discussed on improving the transport system in rural areas. He also informed the house that plantation arrangements have been made in the government land of Panidihing and Saraguwa areas so that migratory birds can be protected in Panidihing Bird Sanctuary. Construction of hotels and setting up of taxi association for the convenience of tourists were also discussed in the meeting. The Deputy Commissioner sought full cooperation from the journalists in this regard and overall development of the district.

District Development Commissioner Bitupan Neog sought suggestions from the media persons on selection of ‘Unique Food’ of Sivasagar district. In this regard, all the journalists present in the meeting agreed that hurum would be the ‘Unique Food’ of Sivasagar district.

The meeting was also attended by Nuzhat Nasreen, Assistant Commissioner and DIPRO (I/c), Sivasagar.
